For this project, the client required a secure pack-out system to handle potent API from a dryer discharge in an ATEX Zone 22 environment. The typical pack-out weight was 35kg, with a maximum capacity of 50kg for the receiving container. The dosing system featured a rotary valve that precisely filled the receiving drum liner with material, achieving an accuracy of ±400g. Pack-outs were performed using the Rheo Flexibles Continuous Liner system and RheoFlex 302 film.
The system was mounted on mobile casters with leveling feet, standing approximately 73″ above the floor. A load cell system communicated with the PLC to ensure accurate material dosing, and all operations were controlled via a touch screen HMI. To ensure durability and corrosion resistance, all product contact surfaces were made from C22 Hastelloy.
